Burrell Collection
Commissioned by Timberplay Scotland in collaboration with ERZ Landscape Architects, this project for the Burrell Collection's new playpark involved creating a series of bespoke animal sculptures designed to enhance the play environment and encourage imaginative engagement. Delivered in 2023, the sculptures contribute to a playful, nature-inspired setting within Pollok Park.
Fabricated in jesmonite, each sculpture was developed to combine durability with a refined sculptural finish. Jesmonite's versatility allowed us to produce robust forms suitable for outdoor public use while achieving the surface detail and tactile qualities that make the pieces inviting for children to interact with. The sculptures sit comfortably within the landscape-led design of the wider playpark, providing both visual character and a hands-on, exploratory element.
The project supports the Burrell Collection's commitment to creating engaging, family-friendly spaces that integrate art, nature, and play. These works help establish the playpark as a welcoming, memorable part of the visitor experience in Pollok Park.
