Whisky Ball Sculpture
Commissioned by Heart & Feints, Sculpture & Design created a bespoke Whisky Ball Sculpture for the revived Port Ellen Distillery on Islay. Designed to echo the warmth and depth of aged single malt, the piece is crafted from Perspex, chosen for its clarity, durability, and ability to hold rich colour beautifully.
The sculpture's distinctive orangey-brown glow evokes the tones of mature whisky in cask, capturing the play of light through liquid amber. Its spherical form reflects both the alchemy of whisky production and the cyclical nature of maturation, a nod to the heritage and craft embedded in Port Ellen's story.
Meticulously fabricated in our workshop, the Whisky Ball brings together precision cutting, careful forming, and considered illumination to create a striking visual centrepiece. Whether viewed in daylight or under artificial lighting, the sculpture radiates warmth and depth, offering visitors a contemporary interpretation of the distillery's character.
