Laurieston Arches
Commissioned by Page & Park Architects and Urban Union, the Laurieston Arches project forms part of a wider programme of urban regeneration within the Gorbals area of Glasgow. Delivered in 2023, this design-focused commission supported the transformation of the historic railway arches into a more connected, accessible, and community-centred public environment.
Sculpture & Design contributed specialist design and fabrication expertise, helping to develop visual and structural interventions that enhance the character of the arches while supporting their new use within the evolving neighbourhood. Our work aimed to balance contemporary design thinking with respect for the industrial fabric of the site, creating elements that are robust, functional, and seamlessly integrated into the surrounding public realm.
Part of a broader effort to revitalise Laurieston, the project strengthens pedestrian connections and contributes to a more vibrant, welcoming streetscape supporting the long-term vision for a more cohesive and liveable urban quarter.
