Sustrans Bike Stations
Developed for installation across a range of urban and landscape contexts, the Cycle Repair Hubs form part of an ongoing initiative to support everyday cycling through accessible, well-designed public infrastructure.
The project focuses on clarity, robustness and ease of use, providing cyclists with practical repair and maintenance facilities integrated into public space. Design development considered visibility, ergonomics and durability, ensuring the hubs are intuitive to use while capable of withstanding sustained public use and varied environmental conditions.
Working in collaboration with Sustrans and Stone Opera, the hubs have been conceived as repeatable, adaptable elements that respond to different sites while maintaining a consistent identity. The project reflects a design-led approach to public realm infrastructure, where functionality, longevity and understated material presence are balanced to encourage active travel and support sustainable modes of transport.
