Gallery of Modern Art
Working with Martin Boyce, we prototyped and produced a series of large scale jesmonite chimneys. A pattern was made from steel sheet, and then coated with a textured paint. Fibreglass moulds were then taken from this pattern, and ultimately a series of casts were taken in jesmonite and acid etched to produce the desired surface finish. The chimneys are capped with aged galvanised steel chimney caps, and aluminium aerials. The three fireplaces are a combination of a solid jesmonite surround and cement fondu fireback. These are designed to be recessed in to the gallery wall.
